Emergency Tree Removal Services & Hazard Removal
When a tree comes down on your property, every minute matters. The Friendly Arborist prioritizes emergency tree removal calls across Simcoe County and Muskoka to stabilize the situation and protect your home fast.
When Every Minute Counts, You Need the Right Team
Has a tree fallen on your home, car, or driveway? Do you have a limb hanging precariously over a public sidewalk or power line?
When a tree emergency strikes, you don’t have time to wait for a standard estimate. You need a professional who can stabilize the situation, prevent further damage, and restore safety to your property immediately.
At The Friendly Arborist, we prioritize emergency calls to ensure that dangerous trees are managed quickly and correctly.
How We Can Help
Rapid Response for Dangerous Situations
We specialize in high-pressure removals where precision and safety are the only priorities. If you’re facing any of the following, we’re ready to help:
Removal of Tree on Structure
If a tree or heavy limb has landed on your house, garage, or shed, every minute counts. We use professional rigging and controlled removal techniques to lift the weight off your structure and reduce the risk of further damage.
Blocked Access Clearing
A fallen tree across a driveway or private road can trap you at home or prevent emergency vehicles from reaching you. We prioritize clearing access points quickly so you can move freely and get help if you need it.
Hanging Limbs & Widow-Makers
Storms often leave large branches snapped but still caught high in the canopy. These widow-makers can fall without warning at any time. We use specialized equipment to safely remove these overhead hazards before they find a target.
Uprooted & Leaning Trees
A tree heaving the soil or leaning at a dangerous angle after a storm is unstable and unpredictable. We assess the root system and bring the tree down safely and in a controlled way before it causes further damage.
Utility Line Interference
When a tree or heavy limb makes contact with a power or phone line, the situation becomes dangerous fast. We work carefully around utility infrastructure to remove the hazard without putting your property or our crew at risk.
Post-Storm Safety Assessment
Sometimes the biggest risk after a storm isn't the obvious one. We'll walk your property and identify hidden hazards like partially snapped limbs, stressed root systems, and widow-makers before they become the next emergency.
Why It Matters
Why Professional Emergency Care is Vital
In an emergency, the natural way a tree sits changes completely. A tree resting on a roof is under different stresses than a standing tree, and one wrong cut can cause the trunk to shift or kick back violently.
1. Stabilizing the Load
Before we make a single cut, we assess how the weight is distributed. We focus on stabilizing the tree so it doesn't roll or slide further into your home. Our goal is to reduce further harm while removing the hazard.
2. Expert Rigging & Control
Emergency removals often happen in tight spaces near power lines or expensive property. We use professional rigging to remove the hazard piece by piece. This allows us to lower heavy sections to the ground with total control, even in the middle of a storm.
3. Documentation for Insurance
We understand that an emergency often involves an insurance claim. We take the time to document the damage and the work performed, providing you with the clear information you need to help your claims process move forward smoothly.
Know The Signs
When is it a True Tree Emergency?
Not sure if you should call right away or wait until morning? If you see these signs, it is an emergency:
Structural Contact
The tree is touching your house, siding, or roof.
Utility Line Interferance
A tree is leaning on or has snapped power or phone lines. (Always call your utility provider first!)
Heaving Roots
You can see the soil lifting or cracking around the base of a leaning tree.
Blocked Entry
You cannot get your car out of the garage or driveway.
Large Hangers
You see large, heavy branches dangling over a play area, walkway, or parking spot.
Don't wait for the wind to pick up again.
If a tree looks unstable, it probably is. We provide honest, fast assessments to help you decide the safest path forward.

FAQ
Common Questions About Emergency Tree Services
Not sure what to expect? Here are answers to the questions we hear most often.
What counts as a tree emergency?
If a tree or large limb has landed on your home, car, or is blocking your driveway, that is an emergency. Other situations that require immediate attention include trees leaning heavily after a storm, large hanging branches over walkways or play areas, and any tree that is making contact with a power line. When in doubt, call us and we will help you assess the situation.
Should I call my utility company or you first?
If a tree is touching or has brought down a power line, call your utility provider first. Do not go near the line yourself. Once the utility company has made the area safe, call us and we will handle the tree.
How do you remove a tree from a roof without causing more damage?
Before we make a single cut we assess how the weight is distributed across your structure. We use professional rigging to remove the tree piece by piece, lowering each section in a controlled way to avoid any additional impact to your home.
Do you work in bad weather?
We assess conditions on a case by case basis. Safety is always our first priority, for our crew and for your property. If conditions are too dangerous to work safely we will be upfront with you and return as soon as it is safe to do so.
Can you help with my insurance claim?
Yes. We document the damage and the work performed so you have clear records to support your claim. We are happy to work alongside your insurance adjuster and answer any questions they have about the job.
